Screaming Tuesday

Often, I think of titles and books that would never really be published (I think there is actually a website dedicated to this somewhere). As I began to work on the rooster sketch and add color—it took on a life of its own—I am officially calling it: Old MacDonald's Scream-A-Long. I personally used to love to scream songs when I was a child. . .and unfortunately never grew out of it (I still scream-sing when driving). So the title feels like a good fit.

I like simple colors
and bursts of patterns and extreme character expression. I still plan on pushing it a bit more—this color version is what I call my "in-between stage" where I develop it to a point and then hide it from myself so I can see it with fresh eyes at a later date—stay tuned.
A portion of my background is in the children's publishing arena. I am working to pull together illustration artwork that is representative of my loud tendency to create beautifully ugly images. My goal is to have a diverse amount of pieces by the end of this month. I love visiting artist sites and watching them develop their work—I intend on using this blog to return the favor. Above is a sketch that I made the other day. . .
