To break up the monotony and to push myself to try new things, I often find local contests or art projects to participate in. The Chicago Public Library has one going on right now—above is my submission. While the one with the laptop explosion is the final version—I am specifically happy with the texture technique I used on the text. At the top, I posted a version of the text isolated and slightly lightened (my favorite part). I will be playing around with these colors and this technique with other pieces.
