This is another sketch that I made recently—Butterfly Knot. I am working on the line work now. The swirls, dots and colors of all the butterflies will dominate more than an individual butterfly. I am debating about patterns that will work with this one, but that should work itself out when I get to color. I like the idea of butterflies looping around each other, so I will try to give this a sense of "light movement" through the line work. I am not totally sold on the positioning/composition and plan on playing with the size-relationship and composition as a whole when I am further along. For me it is easier to work that out on the computer verses with sketching. To view final illustration visit Butterfly Kisses.
